Support St George's

St George’s has stood firm through the centuries thanks to the grace of God and the generosity of benefactors and parishioners. Today, as we continue our mission in the 21st century, we humbly ask for your support. Maintaining an historic church and vibrant ministry in the city centre comes with many challenges – from preserving our beautiful 200-year-old building to funding our music program and outreach initiatives.

We receive no state funding for our operations; it is the faithful giving of friends like you that enables us to keep the doors open and our ministries thriving.

How can you help? There are several ways to support St. George's:

Donations

A one-time donation or a regular pledged offering can make a tremendous difference. Your financial gift, no matter the size, goes directly toward the work of the Church – supporting clergy and staff, keeping the lights on and the organ in tune, and helping those in need through our outreach. If you would like to donate, you can do so during our services (an offertory collection is taken at each Sunday Eucharist), or though the single donations button below. We also welcome checks by post (payable to “St George’s Parish Church”) or cash/cheque donations delivered to the Parish Office. For UK taxpayers, we are registered for Gift Aid, meaning your donation can go 25% further at no extra cost to you.

Planned Giving

Consider becoming a Patron of St George’s or joining our Friends of St George’s circle (if you love our choral music, for instance, you might join the Friends of Music). Regular monthly giving or an annual pledge helps us budget and plan for the future. It also cements your role as a partner in our ministry. We can provide standing order forms or information on how to include St George’s in your charitable giving plans. You can also set up a recurring donation with the button below.

Memorial Gifts and Legacies

Some choose to support St George’s through a memorial donation, in thanksgiving for a loved one, or by leaving a legacy bequest in their will. These lasting gifts honor the past and help secure the future of our church for the next generations. If you feel called to remember St George’s in your estate, our Rector or Treasurer would be happy to discuss legacy giving and ensure your wishes are carried out.

Volunteer & In-Kind Support

Financial contributions are not the only way to help. St George’s welcomes those who wish to give of their time and talents. You might volunteer with our community meal program, join a cleaning/maintenance day to help care for the building, or lend professional skills (like accounting, IT, gardening, etc.) to assist the parish. We also appreciate in-kind gifts – perhaps you have a skill in flower arranging and can join the rota decorating the church, or you might donate music scores to the choir library. Every act of generosity counts.

By supporting St George’s, you become part of the living legacy of this remarkable church. You help us continue offering

uplifting worship, pastoral care, and practical help to those around us. More importantly, you enable the light of faith to burn brightly here in Belfast’s city centre, just as it has since 1816.

We deeply value and acknowledge all donations and support. Thank you for considering a gift to St George’s – together, we can ensure that this “lantern of faith” continues to shine, to the glory of God and the service of His people, for many years to come.

(St George’s Parish is a registered charity. Official receipts for donations can be provided. For any questions about giving, or to discuss a specific gift, please contact our Hon. Treasurer via the Parish Office.)
